About Us

ANB Funds is a product of two separate companies, American Note Capital, and BrightPath Notes. Sensing increased market volume and realizing the efficiencies of combining the companies, the principals decided to form ANB funds. ANB Funds is the managing entity for multiple investment pools. By primarily investing in seasoned, first position, performing residential loans, the fund offers investors consistent, low risk returns.

The notes are individually underwritten and are purchased directly from the originators or in pools. The principals of ANB Funds have been involved in lending over $8 Billion on commercial properties, invested in senior’s facilities, and bought mortgages and other properties nationwide. The company has offices in Indianapolis, Indiana and Petaluma, California

Richard Thornton - Co-Founder and Director of Sales and Marketing

Richard Thornton has over 30 years’ experience in the real
estate industry. In 1982 he co-founded a commercial mortgage company which had a $8 BB loan portfolio at the time of its sale. He has invested in senior housing facilities, flipped 18 houses, and has been a hard money lender. He currently invests in mortgage notes and is the managing principal of American Note Capital. Mr. Thornton has master’s degrees in both Urban Planning and Finance.

Richard Thornton - Co-Founder and Director of Sales and Marketing

Richard Thornton has master’s degrees in both Urban Planning and Finance and over 30 years’ experience in the real estate industry. In 1985 he co-founded a commercial mortgage company which had a $8 Billion loan portfolio at the time of its sale. In 2005 he founded American Note Capital investing in residential mortgage notes nationwide. He has invested in senior housing facilities, founded and managed a private lending fund and flipped houses.

Justin Bogard – Co-Founder and Director of Operations

Justin Bogard has been a residential home wholesaler, house flipper and landlord since 2015. In 2016 he founded BrightPath Notes and began investing in mortgage notes nationwide. He was a contributing author to the Amazon #1 bestseller, Real Estate Without Renters. He hosts a real estate note Meetup with over 1,000 followers which is broadcast live monthly on multiple social media platforms. He is a sought-after speaker and presenter at local, regional, and national real estate events and conferences.
